‘Racquets for Ronald’ is a USTA Sanctioned Doubles and Open Singles Divisions tournament offering three days of tennis with players treated to good food, plenty of cold drinks, an over the top Party, with all proceeds from the tournament benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mobile.

Tournament proceeds directly contribute to the Share-A-Night Fund which helps to cover the operating expenses for Mobile’s Ronald McDonald House that offers thirty-eight guest rooms for families with hospitalized children and helps to support families seeking respite at two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms located inside USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital.

“Hundreds of families each year staying at Mobile’s Ronald McDonald House come from Mississippi, making it truly a home-away-from-home for many of our Mississippi friends and family members” says Jackson county resident and tournament committee member Dr. Tracy Roth. Proceeds from the inaugural tournament named one of the thirty-eight guest rooms The Mississippi Gulf Coast Room in Memory of Sophia Mohler as Mobile’s Ronald McDonald House opens its doors regularly to Mississippi families in need of lodging while their children are being treated at Mobile area hospitals.

When families walk into a Ronald McDonald Family Room, we want them to forget they’re in a hospital. Often steps away from a pediatric or intensive care unit, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms offer a place to rest and regroup right at the hospital, just moments away from their sick child.
